BreEZe is the California Department of Consumer Affairs' online licensing system — and it's the gateway to getting your baton permit, chemical agent endorsement, and other specialty permits processed. If you've ever tried to navigate a state licensing portal, you know how easy it is to miss a field, upload the wrong document, or submit something that gets kicked back weeks later. For $25, SOTC handles the entire submission on your behalf. This is a separate fee from course tuition and covers our staff time to prepare and submit your application accurately.
No — the BreEZe administrative fee applies specifically to specialty permit courses that require BSIS submission, such as baton training and chemical agent / OC spray certification. Your standard guard card course and AB2880 course have their BSIS paperwork included at no extra charge. If you're unsure whether this fee applies to your enrollment, call us and we'll clarify.
When we submit your application, we review it for completeness and accuracy before it goes to BSIS. This significantly reduces the chance of rejection for technical reasons. If BSIS does request corrections, we'll assist you through the resubmission at no additional filing fee.
