Yes — significantly. Employers pay premium rates for taser-certified guards because it expands what security situations you can handle. Armed security jobs that require taser certification typically pay $3–$8/hr more than unarmed positions. The $249 course cost pays for itself within your first week of work at the higher rate.
You must be a licensed security guard (or have a guard card application in progress) to receive BSIS taser certification. If you're new to security, consider starting with a guard card course or one of our guard card packages which can include taser certification.
